How much does New Year's Eve in Sorrento 2027 cost?

New Year's Eve in Sorrento costs from around €100–150 per person for dinner only to more than €1,000 per person for a three-night package with gala dinner in a five-star hotel. This article gives realistic price ranges for the night of 31 December 2026, the extras that push the bill up and practical ways to save. How much is New Year's Eve dinner in Sorrento?

A good restaurant in Sorrento typically charges €130–250 per person for New Year's Eve dinner. Gourmet restaurants and luxury hotels go above €400. For comparison, the Italian national average for a restaurant New Year's Eve dinner in 2025/26 was €94 per person, or €120 with dancing (Fipe-Confcommercio). Sorrento is a resort town with seafood-heavy menus, and local press in late 2024 put the average at €150–250 per person.

• Set menu: the most common option, with 5–8 courses, dessert and the midnight toast. Check whether drinks are included: water and house wine often are, champagne rarely.
• À la carte: some restaurants keep it on 31 December, which can work out cheaper for light eaters and families.
• Dinner-dance: dinner plus live music or a DJ in the same venue. It costs more, but you have no need to find another party.

How much is a New Year package with dinner and accommodation?

Packages start at around €200 per person for one night and reach €1,000–1,600 per person for three nights or more in luxury hotels. Many hotels ask for a minimum stay of two or three nights.

• 3-star hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs: in 2025/26 a one-night package with dinner and live music started at about €200 per person. If you stay in a B&B, add the room to a restaurant dinner.
• 4-star: online guides usually quote €450–700 per person for two nights with dinner. On our site in 2025/26, two-night packages started from about €320 per person, or €410 per room.
• 5-star: two nights start at around €800 per person. In 2025/26 one central grand hotel charged from €887 per person for two nights and €1,148 for three, and three nights at the Grand Hotel La Favorita on our site started at about €975 per person.
• Longer stays: for New Year 2027 one large hotel has published 3- to 7-night packages from €1,099 to €1,619.

Extras that add up

• Room upgrades: sea views and suites cost extra, from about €90–150 per person in one five-star in 2025/26.
• Drinks: many gala dinners are "drinks excluded" or include only a wine selection.
• Extra meals: dinner on 30 December or lunch on 1 January may be extra (€80 and €70 per person in one five-star in 2025/26).
• Children and third beds: rules vary widely, from an €80 children's supplement for entertainment and menu to €530 per person for a third bed. Always ask for an exact family quote.
• Parking: around €30 per day at central hotels.
• Tourist tax: in 2026 Sorrento charges €2 per person per night in hotels up to 3 stars, €4 in 4-star hotels and B&Bs and €5 in 5-star hotels, usually paid at the hotel.

Deposits, payment and cancellation

Terms are stricter at New Year. Expect a deposit or full prepayment, often by 30 November. One hotel requires 100% by 30 November 2026 for New Year 2027, non-refundable but with dates changeable up to 3 days before arrival. Another offered an early-booking rate until 30 September (€1,600 instead of €1,980 per room for two nights) with a 50% deposit. Always get the cancellation terms in writing, and consider travel insurance for non-refundable rates.

How to save

1. Book by October: in the five-star example above, the early-booking rate was about 19% lower.
2. Stay outside the centre: rooms in Piano, Meta or Sant'Agnello are often cheaper. Budget for a taxi after midnight, as trains stop around 7pm on 31 December.
3. Go à la carte if you are a light eater.
4. Skip the dinner-dance: the party in Piazza Tasso and the fireworks are free.
5. Compare nights: two nights can cost little more than one night plus a separate dinner.
6. Check what is included: a pricier all-in package can beat a cheap one full of extras.

Is the party in the square free?
