Meta is the first town of the Sorrento plain coming from Vico Equense, with a long seafaring tradition and two of the widest beaches on the coast, Alimuri and Meta beach. The heart of the town is the Basilica of Santa Maria del Lauro, overlooking the main square.
During the holidays the centre fills with lights and events tied to religious and local traditions. For New Year in Meta the location is handy: Sorrento is a few minutes away by train or car, and you sleep in a quieter town.
